Alumni Emergency Relief Fund to Benefit Chef Lay Alston

C-CAP announces the establishment of the Alumni Emergency Relief Fund to benefit our alumna, Chef Lay Alston.
Sadly, Chef Lay fell victim to a shooting incident in New York City in July, just a few short days before she was to resume her teaching position as chef-instructor at the Institute of Culinary Education in Los Angeles. She has also worked at Café Boulud and Red Rooster in New York City.

What's Cooking with C-CAP: Fall Classics with Patrice Vassell

Introducing What's Cooking with C-CAP , our new virtual cooking class fundraiser series led by C-CAP alumni. Our first class was Tuesday, October 27, and it was led by pastry chef Patrice Vassell! The class taught Pumpkin Soufflé with a Maple Crème Anglais⁠e and Spiced Apple Cider Cake Donuts⁠.
All the participants joined via Zoom and were able to cook alongside Patrice. This virtual series was created so we can continue to connect with the C-CAP community through food, support our wonderful alumni, and fundraise for our programs while ensuring everyone stays safe during this time.
