Does beef-or extra protein from any food-boost your strength?

In May, researchers reported the results of a study that enrolled 145 older adults in a supervised strength-training program three days a week.
After six months, those who were randomly assigned to eat two servings of lean red meat on each day they did strength training gained no more muscle or strength than those who ate two servings of rice, pasta, or potato instead.
“More and more evidence is showing that there isn't a lot of benefit from extra protein, whether you're engaged in resistance training or not,” says Bettina Mittendorfer, professor of medicine at the Washington University...
